My Story
I’m Daniel Journey, a Porsche mechanic and Kansas City area native. I’ve been in various parts of the country over the last 10 years wrenching on old Porsches. I recently came home to reopen the Porsche shop my father started in 1986 –JP Werks.
My Focus
I specialize in air-cooled, vintage Porsches and can handle the most in-depth projects. All of the specialized engine machining required to rebuild air-cooled engines is done right here at the shop, including cylinder head work and engine case-line boring.
My Background
I started out working for my dad's shop and, by the time I was a teen, was capable of doing major repairs on 944s. I received a 4-year degree in automotive restoration from McPherson College. I spent time training and working on some of the most significant cars in the world at a concours restoration shop where I serviced and rebuilt Porsche giants like the 911R, RS, RSR, 550, 904, 906 and 910. I’m excited to be back home and feel so fortunate to continue the legacy of my father, Mark Journey.
